Marco A. Ruiz has been responsible for the design and development of many leading communities, innovative homes styles, and scores of retail and mixed use centers over the last twenty years. He has served as a senior executive in both design and operating roles for two NYSE listed homebuilders, KB Home and WCI Communities, Miami developer The Related Group, as well as international merchant banking firm Island Capital Group, headquartered in New York. Additionally, Mr. Ruiz has held positions with two prominent California architectural firms, JZMK Partners and Danielian Architects.
Geographically, Mr. Ruiz has provided creative design and operational leadership for residential, resort, marina, mixed use and hospitality projects located throughout the United States, as well as Panama, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Japan, the Middle East and China. He is credited with developing innovative home styles and community land plans that changed the contextual architecture of residential design and Master Planning in South Florida. An early proponent of Urban Renewal, Mr. Ruiz has led downtown redevelopment efforts in cities located in Florida, The Bahamas and Puerto Rico. His projects have won many design competitions and awards, and have been published in various periodicals.
Mr. Ruiz earned degrees in Architecture and Real Estate Management, and is also an alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
